Presenting the findings of MAPID in Rome and Milan

On 10 and 13 December two Dissemination Fora were held  in Rome and Milan, respectively. These fora discussed the major findings of the MAPID Project and were attended by representatives of Italian local governments, Philippine diplomatic posts in Italy, migrants’ associations, academe, and other civil society organizations.

The MAPID final report titled, Brick by Brick was officially launched during both events. The book served as background paper for the discussion. The dissemination activities in Italy gathered more than 300 representatives from the different sectors. During the events the book Transnational Bridges was distributed to the participants. Moreover two policy briefs, one addressing Italian institutions (Italian version and English version) and one addressing Filipino Associations in Italy (Italian version and English version), were presented and distributed

The fora were characterized by dialogue and exchange with the various stakeholders. The fora served not only to disseminate highlights and recommendations of the MAPID Project, but also to discover new partners and new developments in the institutions which had been part of the MAPID Project in the earlier phases.

The Dissemination Forum in Rome obtained the support of the Municipality of Rome. The Dissemination Forum in Milan was held  within the framework of the presentation of the 2010 Report on Migrations by IMSU Milan.
