Established in Manila, Philippines in 1987, the Scalabrini Mogration Center (SMC) is dedicated to the promotion of the interdisciplinary study of international migration, with a specific focus on migration questions in the Asia-Pacific region. Aside from research, SMC maintains a resource center specializing in migration literature, publishes the academic quarterly, Asian and Pacific Migration Journal, organizes training programs, advocates for the promotion of the rights of migrants, and builds networks with academic institutions civil society, international organizations and governments.
SMC is a member of the Federation of Centers for Migration Studies (FCMS) "G.B. Scalabrini," a network of centers promoting research on international migration and the publication of journals on migration studies. SMC is also a member of the Scalabrini International Migration Network (SIMN) and Philippine Migrants Rights Watch (PMRW).

Fabio Baggio, PhD Fabio Baggio is director of the Scalabrini Migration Center as well as co-editor of the Asian and Pacific Migration Journal and the Asian Migration News. He is a Scalabrinian missionary. He obtained his Master (1994) and PhD in Church History (1998), with specialization in Contemporary History, from the Pontificia Universitas Gregoriana in Rome (Italy). |

Maruja M. B. Asis, PhD Maruja M. B. Asis is director of research and publications and co-editor of the Asian and Pacific Migration Journal and the Asian Migration News. She has a background in Sociology (BA, 1979) and Demography (MA, 1984) from the University of the Philippines. She holds a PhD in Sociology (1989), with specialization in Population Studies and Social Change, from Bowling Green State University. |

Cecilia Ruiz Marave Cecilia Ruiz Marave is the Center’s research associate providing assistance in various research projects. She is also responsible for the preparation of the Asian Migration News. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Public Health at the University of the Philippines and has masteral units in Demography at the UP Population Institute. |

Ma. Cecilia Villanueva Guerrero Ma. Cecilia Villanueva Guerroro is a resource specialist in charge of the library. Her other tasks include providing research assistance and handling the Center’s accounting matters. She finished her Bachelor of Arts, major in Sociology at the University of Santo Tomas in 1987. |

Ma. Leonila Domingo Ma. Leonila Domingo is is publications assistant. In addition, she takes care of various office-related assignments. She is a Bachelor of Science in Education (1990) graduate of Divina Pastora College. |

John Paul B. Asis John Paul B. Asis is responsible for the data management of the Center’s research projects. He also assists in library work and in researching materials for the Asian Migration News. He is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (2001) in Filamer Christian College. |
