Irregular migrant workers nabbed in immigration raids

Thirteen foreign workers were apprehended by immigration agents for failing to produce valid documents following a series of raids in various commercial and residential areas in the country. Arrested in Mukim Pangkalan Batu and at Kg Sungai Besar on 27 July were six Indonesians, four males and two females. Three other Indonesians and a Thai national were nabbed near a shopping complex in Kampong Pandan Tujoh in Kuala Belait on 16 July. That same night, a raid targeting various locations in the Tutong District led to the arrest of the three other foreign workers, whose nationalities were not identified. However, two of these workers were later released after their employers produced their passports.
