US immigration authorities deported 54 Indonesians from the country on 11 April, after discovering that they had overstayed and violated visa regulations. The Indonesians, including 46 men and eight women were caught during regular immigration checks and were detained in a San Diego immigration center. Some were believed to be victims of human trafficking. The Indonesians arrived in Jakarta on 17 April, with the US reportedly covering their travel costs.
