If a bill proposed by the Council of Labor Affairs (CLA) in its current form becomes law, housemaids in Taiwan, whether they are migrants or locals, will be required to work harder than God: they will have to work continuously for seven days before they can take a day off. However, they will be allowed at least eight hours of uninterrupted rest each working day.
